EastEnders fans will be no stranger to this loved up couple, who’s rollercoaster romance has been on screen for two decades.

Patrick Trueman and Yolande Trueman have been on and off since they landed in Albert Square in 2004, but it turns out it wasn’t the first time the actors had worked together.

A picture from the two actors, Rudolph Walker CBE and Angela Wynter, has surfaced from a performance at the Hampstead Theatre.

The performance in 1982 sees the two young actors in a play called Meetings by Mustapha Matura.

EastEnders fans have been left stunned by the picture, as one commented: “Wow. That’s pic. Absolutely wonderful actors. Eastenders is so lucky to have them. Angela has been phenomenal this year.”

Another shared: “Wow what a great pic. 2 icons.”

A third posted: “Both still as beautiful as ever.”

“Patrick causing her stress for 42 years,” joked another as it referred to the rollercoaster romance in EastEnders for the pair.

On screen, the pair have faced many ups and downs including splitting before rekindling their romance last year, and the recent triggering storyline after Yolande was sexually assaulted.

Last month saw her confess to husband Patrick after her sexual assault at the hands of Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler).

The storyline saw Yolande pluck up the courage to report the assault to the police last month, with TV viewers cheering her on.

Outside of EastEnders, actress Angela Wynter has revealed her close friendship with Rudolph, as she told the Metro: “We’ve known each other for so many years.

“I played his maid first when I was a young girl in a play, then I played his daughter in a TV movie, and then I came to play his girlfriend and then wife at EastEnders.

“It’s a long relationship of love and respect, and I could play any character with him.”
