The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers recap for Monday, July 8, reveals that Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will bump into Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) at Society, where they’ll commiserate over their firings before Kyle hints about a new opportunity.

Daniel will mention that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) isn’t as pumped about Kyle’s new job, but Kyle will think she’s overreacting. Furthermore, Kyle will warn that Summer needs to back off the custody threats or she’ll live to regret making them.

Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) will witness Kyle’s outburst and offer some advice to Daniel about letting Summer handle her own life.

At Crimson Lights, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) will bump into Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) again, so they’ll sit down for a treat and discuss Kyle.

Victor will wonder if Claire was on a date with Kyle earlier, but she’ll shut down that idea and act like she wouldn’t cross that line with her boss.

That’ll be good news as far as Victor’s concerned since Kyle is Jack Abbott’s (Peter Bergman) son – and that’s reason enough to proceed with caution. Victor will hint about some things in Kyle’s past and think it’s wise for Claire to be careful.

Sometimes when someone’s life gets turned upside down, they can become a different person and cause people to get hurt without intending to. That’s something Victor will want Claire to keep in mind.

Although Claire won’t think Victor needs to worry, she’ll appreciate his love and protective nature.

As for Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), they’ll discuss the possibility that Summer is lashing out at Kyle because she’s angry and a little jealous.

Nick will think it’s wise to take a step back from the situation, but that’ll be tough for Phyllis to accept since that’s just now how she rolls with her children.

Once Phyllis and Nick head to the GCAC for a nightcap, Nick will mention the history lesson Faith Newman (Reylynn Caster) got recently regarding his past with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

Phyllis will wonder about Nick’s romantic plans now, but he’ll act like he’s sworn off dating – and Phyllis will admit she’s done with dating, too.

However, Nick and Phyllis’ gaze will linger on each other as they part ways for the evening, so there’ll seemingly be a little longing on both sides.

At the Abbott mansion, Jack will have an encouraging video call with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) about Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) progress and will seem tickled pink over her bond with Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins).

After Traci hangs up and answers the door, she’ll be stunned to find Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) standing there. Since Chistine and Danny will be in town for a concert, they’ll insist they had to make this reunion happen.

Once Alan arrives, he’ll meet Danny and Christine before they all go out for a meal together. Alan will step away for a phone call, so Christine and Danny will excitedly quiz Traci about her new romance.

Later, Alan and Traci will agree to attend Danny’s show that evening. After Danny and Christine take off, Alan will talk about how great it was meeting Traci’s friends and will pull her into a kiss.

Back at the Abbott mansion, Kyle will come home and get into another shouting match with Jack. When Kyle speaks in riddles again, Jack will push him to just come out with it already.

Kyle will finally admit that he’s running Glissade and will be working with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver). After Kyle talks about having bottomless funding to make Glissade a powerhouse, he’ll insist that he’s going to put Jabot out of business!

Kyle will add that he works for the enemy and there’s nothing Jack can do to stop it, so Jack will look unsettled as his son stomps upstairs.

Our Y&R predictions indicate that Kyle will become a major player in Jack and Victor’s growing feud, so we’ll bring you updates on all the dirty moves ahead.
