STAYING TRUE Yolande Trueman gets devastating news from the police in EastEnders – but there’s a ray of hope

YOLANDE Trueman gets devastating news from the police in EastEnders – but there’s a ray of hope.

The character – played by Angela Wynter – was sexually assaulted by Pastor Clayton in heartbreaking scenes earlier this year.

She initially refused to confide in partner Patrick, but the truth finally came spilling out in a special episode featuring the couple in May.

He encouraged her to report it to the police but she refused, before agreeing to let Levi, who is part of the church group, know what happened.

Levi promised to investigate but so far no justice has been brought against the twisted Pastor.

In an episode earlier this week, Yolande finally found the strength to go to the police and report the sexual assault, leaving fans cheering her bravery.

But in upcoming EastEnders scenes, Patrick and Denise – who now knows what happened – worry about Yolande as she prepares for a visit from the police.Yolande finally reported the Pastor to the police this week

Yolande is devastated when DS Page explains there’s not enough evidence to charge Pastor Clayton.

However, all is not lost as at home, Yolande is despairing to the family when Levi arrives.

He explains that he’s done some digging and discovered a woman called Delia, who formerly accused Pastor Clayton of sexual assault in 2016.

Levi wants Yolande and Delia to go to the police together, but worried about re-traumatising Delia, Yolande agonises over whether to pursue this.

Will she be able to summon even more strength to try and get Delia to help bring Pastor Clayton to justice?

EastEnders viewers certainly hope so, after sharing their thoughts on the moment Yolande finally reported the Pastor to the police.

One wrote: “I am rooting for Yolande so hard. PLEASE #Eastenders writers, make this one SA story line that actually ends with the perp getting sentenced for his crime!”

Another added: “Hope that smug little creep b*****d gets what he deserves. #Eastenders.”

A third tweeted: “Yolande finally speaking up, reporting and getting justice has made me so happy.”
