Coronation Street‘s Gail Rodwell is rushed to hospital next week.

The legendary character suffers worrying symptoms as arguments with her family spiral out of control.

Gail has recently reunited with returning character Jesse Chadwick after revealing that they had a holiday romance in Thailand a few years ago.

As ever, Gail’s family haven’t held back from sharing their opinions – with her children Sarah and David worried that Jesse can’t be trusted.

Next week, Gail’s mum Audrey also chimes in as she gossips with David at the salon. Audrey and David are in full agreement that Gail is being foolish by trusting Jesse.

Later in the week, a huge row breaks out between Jesse, Sarah and David at No.8. Gail is appalled by her family’s behaviour and kicks her kids out of the house.

Shortly afterwards, Jesse searches for Lily’s bicycle pump in the cupboard and makes a surprising discovery of his own.

Just as Jesse is about to start asking questions, he notices Gail breathing unsteadily and clutching her arm. Terrified that she’s suffering a heart attack, he calls an ambulance.

Sarah, David and Nick all gather on the street in time to see Gail being rushed away by the emergency services.

Feeling terrible, Sarah and David blame themselves for starting the argument with Jesse and stressing Gail out.

With Gail being treated, Jesse shifts his attention to the unexpected discovery he made in the house and gently pushes David for a confession. What is David hiding – and will he take the bait by telling all?

The scenes form part of the build-up to Gail’s departure later in the year, after Helen Worth recently announced her plans to leave the role after 50 years.

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday, October 21 and Wednesday, October 23.
