ENDER IT ‘What has gone wrong?’ rage incensed EastEnders fans as they slam BBC storyline

EASTENDERS fans have been left questioning if something has “gone wrong” on the soap as they labelled a recent episode of the show “boring”.

The BBC soap opera has been on top form recently and has had one of its most impressive 18-month stints since it began airing in 1985.

Storylines such as The Six, Lola’s brain tumour and the return of Cindy Beale have seen fans chomping at the bit to tune into episodes weekly to get their latest Walford fix.

However, many fans were left slamming the programme over its recent Father’s Day episode.

Throughout the majority of the episode, fans watched on as Stevie gathered some of Albert Square’s father’s and son’s for a “lads and dads” fishing trip.

It saw Stevie take his long-lost son Billy and grandson Will along with Howie and Denzel Danes and Jack and Ricky Branning to a local lake in order to catch some fish. The episode raised questions about the soap's current quality

The scenes saw the young teens refusing to hand over their phones and constantly moaning during the less-than-fun trip.

It left fans craving more as they were left underwhelmed by the scenes as they hit out over the lack of exciting drama.

In response to the episode, one fan said online: “Why has EastEnders gone so downhill? Like what has gone wrong behind the scenes?”

Someone else added back: “Literally this, it’s so boring, that fishing trip last night, bored me to almost tears.”

Attempting to see the positive in the “boring” episode, one fan wrote: “At least it’s boring stories with decent characters, imagine these storylines with Bernie or Harvey or Felix.”

Whilst another insisted that the soap had been on a downward trajectory since its big Christmas Day episode.

They said: “Its been bad since after boxing day, it wasn’t summer in January February March and April [sic].”

Despite the fan concern, the soap has reignited one of its more popular storylines after pairing Sharon Watts and Phil Mitchell together again.

After reminiscing with each other about their lives, Sharon and Phil shared a loving glance before they jumped into a smooch with one another.

Pulling away, Phil then gripped a hold of her arm as he pulled her in for another kiss.

They then passionately embraced each other once again as Sharon appeared happy that the spark had been reignited.
