EastEnders’ Sharon ‘new lover’ revealed – and it’s another Mitchell family member

EastEnders’ Sharon Watts has a new love interest and it’s another Mitchell brother.

The iconic character, played by Letitia Dean, has had numerous romantic entanglements since her first appearance on the BBC One soap in 1985.

Recently, she was left heartbroken following the death of her fiance Keanu Taylor, who was killed by Linda Carter after he tried to strangle Sharon upon discovering that her son, Albie, wasn’t his.

Last week saw Keanu’s funeral take place, an event that deeply affected Sharon. However, things quickly heated up between her and ex-lover Phil Mitchell, who is also the father of her baby Albie.

This week introduces a new Mitchell family: Billy’s brother Teddy and his two children, Harry and Barney. Next week, Teddy develops a fondness for Sharon.

Spoilers indicate that Phil and Teddy upset Sharon by leaving the gym messy after a Mitchell drinking session. Later, Teddy attempts to win Sharon over by inviting her for a drink and turning on the charm.

Teddy and Sharon share a flirtatious drink, causing Stevie to raise an eyebrow as he’s not too thrilled about his son getting involved with Phil’s ex. When Teddy tries to persuade Sharon to stick around for another drink, she playfully turns him down and leaves.

Actor Roland Manookian, famed for his roles in The Football Factory, RocknRolla and The Rise of the Footsoldier franchise, has stepped into the role of Teddy. Elijah Holloway is portraying Harry, while Lewis Bridgeman is playing his younger brother Barney.

Executive Producer Chris Clenshaw expressed his excitement about the new Mitchells: “I’m delighted to welcome Roland, Elijah and Lewis to EastEnders as we introduce a new branch of the iconic Mitchell family to the Square.”

“The arrival of Teddy, Harry and Barney will be a massive shock for Billy and an unwelcome surprise for Phil. With their entrance sparking more questions than answers, it won’t be long before the Mitchells find themselves at war as Teddy and his sons are thrust into the heart of the drama.”
