Lacey Turner’s sister has shared how the EastEnders star reacted when she told her she landed a role in a rival soap.

Actress Lacey shot to fame playing Stacey Slater on BBC’s EastEnders – making her debut in 2004. And it’s fair to say she has gone on to become one of the soap’s most-loved stars.

Over the years, Lacey’s had some big storylines too playing Stacey. From her bipolar battle to murder, Stacey’s time in Walford has not been short of drama.

And it turns out acting runs in the Turner blood, as her younger sister has ventured out into the world of acting and soaps. Daisy Turner made her soap debut around the time of Lacey’s first EastEnders departure in 2010.

In 2011, Daisy Turner joined rival soap Hollyoaks on Channel 4 aged 20. She played blonde beauty Rebecca Massey who rocked up in March that year using the fake name Jenny Houston.

At the time, Daisy admitted it was hard to start out as a soap star while her older sister Lacey was much more established. She told Liverpool Echo: “All three of us do it.

“Lacey and I acted as kids. Our mum, Bev, let us do everything – singing, dancing and acting,” she added. And it turns out Lacey had a sweet response to sister Daisy landing the Hollyoaks job telling her “she is there” for her.

Daisy explained: “I was at home with my mum and sisters when I got the call to say I’d got the part. Lacey said if I need her, she is there.”

She went on: “I suppose there is a bit of pressure because she is very good at what she does. She has done it for years and I am just starting out.”

Daisy also told the publication that when she auditioned, she didn’t tell Hollyoaks bosses about her sister being Lacey. Daisy said: “It would be embarrassing to walk into an audition and say that. Every time I went to an audition, I never mentioned Lacey, because that would make me sound stupid.”Hollyoaks

Sadly though, Daisy’s time on the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks was short-lived. Her character Jenny was killed off just months after arriving, by baddie Silas, as part of a long-running plot line. The serial killer ended up strangling her.

Daisy, now 33, hasn’t appeared in many programmes since. In 2010 though, she appeared in a short film called You Got The Time?.
