EastEnders fans reckon Reiss is hiding a very dark secret from his partner Sonia Fowler.

Viewers have grown incredibly suspicious of the character, played by Jonny Freeman, after watching him steal money from his comatose wife Debbie. He’s turned desperate in his need for cash and has stooped to new lows.

Reiss and his partner Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) have been trying for a baby for months and thought they’d finally managed it. But they were unsuccessful and Reiss has been unable to fund the IVF treatment himself.

He had lied to Sonia, telling him that he had been able to pay for the treatment using a trust fund from his mother. But to the horror of fans, he’s been taking money from Debbie.

And now some believe that “psycho” Reiss was the one who put her in the coma. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one wrote: “Is Reiss the reason Debbie is in a coma? Is he showing his true colours? #EastEnders.”

Another said: “That’s probably why Debbie’s in a coma; she planned on leaving Reiss #Eastenders.” A third added: “We all know Debbie is going to wake up and Reiss is the reason that she’s in a coma; because underneath that quivering wreck is a complete and utter Psycho!! Come on EE make it happen! Love a nut job on the square.”

A fourth said: “There is a psychopath lurking in Reiss…mark my words! Would bet my house he’s responsible for the coma.”

Sonia recently received heartbreaking pregnancy news on Albert Square. She learned she wasn’t pregnant after being rushed to hospital to be checked out.

A doctor told Sonia, Reiss and Sonia’s sister Bianca: “I’m afraid there’s no embryo. It’s called a blighted ovum where it attaches to the uterus but doesn’t develop into an embryo.”

Sonia is still determined to conceive via IVF, despite Bianca’s fears she’s not had enough time to grieve. And Reiss has tried to make money by selling a car to Jay (Jamie Borthwick) and charging Kat for a tax bill that she already paid – both didn’t work.
