EastEnders’ Denise edges close to a horrific secret as she makes a realisation

Denise Fox (Diane Parish) picks up on Yolande Trueman’s (Angela Wynter) distant behaviour in EastEnders this week, unaware of the devastating secret she’s hiding.

Pastor Clayton, played by Howard Saddler, took advantage of Yolande after befriending her, and attacked her back in April of this year.

She was left traumatised and initially kept her ordeal a secret, confiding only in neighbour Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).

Eventually, in a critically acclaimed two-hander episode, she confided in her husband Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker), who vowed to be by her side no matter what.

Yolande opted not to report Clayton to the police, but instead told church official Levi what she has been through.

What nobody knows is that Clayton has actually committed sexual assault against many other women, and continues to hide as a monster in plain sight.

As Levi conducted an investigation, Yolande and Patrick took themselves away from a break, but returned to the discovery that Levi had moved on.

Clayton remains a so-called pillar of the community which Yolande is now forced to continue sharing with him.

In upcoming episodes of the BBC One soap, Yolande is feeling anxious on the day of Jordan’s baptism, but she’s steadied by support from Patrick.

As the rest of the family gather at the church, Denise senses that something is up with Yolande. She tries to speak with her, but will Yolande open up about the ordeal?

When it comes to Denise, the past few months have been considerably quieter for her as she’s recovered after a psychotic breakdown.

Following Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder on Christmas Day, Denise and the rest of The Six were forced to hide his body under the floorboards in the cafe.

Denise then experienced severe hallucinations and flashbacks of the ordeal, which resulted in her being sent to a mental health unit to get some help.

In the most recent development, Denise opened up to sister Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) about her struggles. While she didn’t reveal the trigger, she promised Kim she would tell her everything about it one day.
