Celebs Go Dating expert says fans will finally see the ‘real Helen Flanagan’ on show

Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan is about to put her love life on the line in the new series of Celebs Go Dating.

The I’m A Celeb star split from her footballer ex and father to her three kids Scott Sinclair in 2022. The pair share Matilda, seven, Delilah, five, and Charlie, two, together.

Now, single again, Helen is back on the market and has put her love life in the hands of E4 experts, which includes Anna Williamson who we spoke exclusively to about the new series.

When asked how Helen is getting on so far, after being halfway through filming, Anna confirmed dates were “loving her”. Anna said: “Helen she is a stand-out she really is.

“I’m really excited for everyone to see the ‘real Helen’. She’s not come on this show to play games and do challenges like on I’m A Celebrity, she has come on as the real Helen.

“I think her story is really representative of a lot of women who are finding themselves single again with children and having to navigate the dating world. I think she is coming across as beautifully authentic and vulnerable. And lets just say, the dates we are setting her up on, they are loving our Helen.”

Alongside Helen, Chris Taylor, Jamelia, Tristan Phipps, Stephen Lustig-Webb and Ella Morgan, are all joining the 2024 lineup.

The TV star also spoke about Nintendo’s new study which claims gaming can be a positive addition during exam season. Anna said: “We’ve done some insightful research around exam season and into the level of stress that is experienced by both parents and children.

“And according to nearly one in all the parents that we research, they say that they’re still struggling with that stress. But actually, gaming is very much welcome to reduce stress and lots of the parents that we spoke to said that gaming helps improve cognitive functions.

“Such as their memory coordination and reading ability, and it’s a really good thing to allow our children to actually game sensibly and have that time away from their studies in order for them to feel kind of de-stress.

“This campaign is really shining that much needed positively on the benefits of gaming, which, according to our research I’ve seen as a mother myself.”
