Emmerdale’s Ruby Fox-Miligan uncovers some surprising information in her late mother’s will next week.

Ruby has experienced mixed emotions following last month’s news that her estranged mum Helen had passed away.

Mother and daughter had led separate lives for 30 years, due to Helen’s decision to disown Ruby over her relationship with Caleb.

Before Helen died from a terminal illness, she asked to see Ruby again but Caleb demanded £100,000 in return for setting up the meeting.

Helen paid the money but passed away before Caleb could make the arrangements. This left Caleb feeling guilty that his delays and meddling denied Ruby the chance to reconcile with her mum.

Next week, the extent of Caleb’s deception remains under wraps, despite the hospital telling Ruby that he visited Helen before she died.

Ruby prepares for the reading of Helen’s will and Caleb worries that it will expose his secret.

When Ruby reacts with shock and horror to one of the documents, Caleb fears his luck has run out. However, Ruby’s surprise turns out to be something else entirely.

Helen’s will mentions that she was secretly in touch with Ruby’s daughter Steph before she died.

This leaves Ruby reflective over her lack of closeness to Steph. She tells Chas that she’s grateful for the way Caleb has worked to include her in the Dingle clan when her own family is so estranged.

Later, Caleb breathes a sigh of relief over making it through the will reading unscathed – but how long can his good fortune really last for?
