BREAKING: Sonia in hot water after major slip up with a patient in EastEnders

An admission from Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) is to leave Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) suspicious of his wife Yolande (Angela Wynter) in upcoming EastEnders scenes.

Patrick has been concerned for his partner in recent weeks, unaware that she was sexually assaulted by Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler) at a church fundraiser.

Viewers of the BBC One soap watched in horror as she confessed the Pastor’s sickening actions to close friend Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe).

We also saw a series of flashbacks showing a number of Clayton’s victims speaking of similar incidents, that spanned 23 years.

Unfortunately, on each occasion, either church officials or the police were unable to investigate further.

Such negligence has allowed him to commit further offences, including on Yolande when he cornered her in a store room at the community centre.

Since then she’s struggled to come clean to partner Patrick, who she was previously married to, and has found his loving advances to be triggering.

Things go from bad to worse this week when she’s too focussed on praying and doesn’t realise the kitchen is ablaze.

In upcoming scenes, still worried sick, Patrick is taken aback as Sonia lets slip that Yolande has missed a medical appointment that he didn’t know about.

How will Patrick react?Elsewhere, Denise Fox (Diane Parish) is concerned when she is a no-show at the launch of the food van that she worked tirelessly to fundraise for and suggests that Patrick talk to the Pastor. The sick preacher implies that Yolande could be unwell, which leaves her furious.

Unable to bring herself to admit the truth, Elaine offers to do it instead, leaving Patrick shell-shocked.

Trying to process the news, he attempts to talk to her, but feels shut off when she locks herself in the bathroom.

Erupting in rage, Patrick decides to confront Clayton but Yolande rushes to stop him and she later agrees to report him to the church officials.

However, when proceedings seem to be taking longer than expected, Patrick once again sees red.

Will he unleash his anger?
