There is an official premiere date and description for season 6 of “Virgin River”. We have another division into parts – but an unusual one

Netflix has officially announced the premiere date for season 5 of “Virgin River”. Or rather, two dates, because the season will be divided into parts, but in a rather unusual way. What awaits Mel, Jack and the residents of the titular town?

It’s official: “Virgin River” returns with season 5, and Netflix announces “surprising new relationships, a shocking breakup, a difficult trial, a farewell that will break our hearts, and a fire threatening the town”. When will it premiere?

Virgin River season 5 – when will it premiere? Division into parts

There are two premiere dates, because the new series is to consist of two parts. However, this is not a typical 50/50 division. The first part of season 5 of “Virgin River” (10 episodes) will premiere on Thursday, September 7, while the second part, consisting of two Christmas episodes, will also appear on Thursday, November 30.

The official synopsis for the new episodes (via TVLine) promises plenty of complications for the residents of Virgin River. Issues surrounding motherhood force Mel to make a big decision about her future at the clinic, while her pregnancy unexpectedly sparks an emotional connection to Mel’s past. To further prove his love to Mel, Jack confronts long-delayed issues—his own demons, as well as Charmaine’s. Meanwhile, the Doctor and Hope struggle to overcome their own health issues while finding solace in their community, their new young family, and each other.

Familiar faces will return to our screens: Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel, Martin Henderson as Jack, Lauren Hammersley as Charmaine, Tim Matheson as the Doctor, Annette O’Toole as Hope, Colin Lawrence as Preacher, Benjamin Hollingsworth as Brady, Zibby Allen as Brie, Sarah Dugdale as Lizzie, Marco Grazzini as Mike, Mark Ghanimé as Cameron, and Kai Bradbury as Denny.

The Netflix series will also feature new faces – three actors have joined the cast of season 5 of “Virgin River”. They are Susan Hogan (“Inconvenient Witness”), Elise Gatien (“Supernatural”) and Paolo Maiolo (“Nancy Drew”).

In season 5 of “Virgin River”, the showrunner has changed – Sue Tenney has been replaced by Patrick Sean Smith, who promised to continue everything his predecessor started and that there will be no shortage of plot twists. “Virgin River” has also been ordered for a 6th season. Filming was supposed to begin in July, but this will not happen due to the ongoing strikes in Hollywood.
