EastEnders legend wishes his dad dead as he walks out in shock showdown

This article contains spoilers for Thursday’s (June 27) EastEnders, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on BBC iPlayer.

Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) made his feelings for dad Stevie Mitchell (Alan Ford) very clear in recent EastEnders scenes, which saw him storm out of his hospital room.

Stevie was left hospitalised after being pushed over by Will Mitchell (Freddie Phillips) earlier this week when their conversation over the stolen charity money escalated into a shouting match.

While the rest of the family believed Stevie had been responsible for taking the missing money, he soon discovered that the real culprit was young Will, who was being blackmailed by a boy from school.

Still under the impression that it was Stevie who had stolen the money, Billy arrived at the hospital, where he had some harsh words for his dad.Billy Mitchell leaning on a table looking angry at the hospital in EastEnders

He was quick to reveal that Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) had found the lost money on Stevie when he was unconscious, and that they knew he was planning to frame Will for the theft.

Of course, this couldn’t have been further from the truth, but Stevie allowed Billy to believe it – even going so far as to apologise, in order to protect Will’s secret.

Disgusted by his dad’s behaviour, Billy revealed that he believed that karma had put him in hospital, before admitting that he wished it had put him ‘six feet under’.

As Billy walked out of the room, Stevie seemed hurt, before Will admitted that Phil had made him conceal the truth.

When Will lamented that it was his fault that things had gone wrong between Stevie and Billy just as they were rebuilding their relationship, Stevie assured him that he would be able to learn from this, and look out for his family the same way that they had looked out for him.

However, their conversation soon came to an end when they were interrupted by the arrival of a mysterious stranger – though it soon became clear that he wasn’t a stranger at all, but actually Stevie’s son Teddy.

With Billy later learning the truth about Teddy’s identity, will his new extended family help to bring him and Stevie closer together, or simply drive them further apart?
